Sebastian Fundora successfully defended his WBC Light Middleweight title last night (Sat., Oct. 17, 2026) by defeating a very game opponent in the form of Ermal Hadribeaj…and he did it in highly-dramatic fashion.
Indeed, “The Towering Inferno” delivered a literal last-second knockout over the Albanian, stopping him with a missile of a left hand with only one-second remaining the the twelve-round 154-pound title fight in Las Vegas, Nevada. In doing so, he becomes the first man to ever defeat Hadribeaj.
Check out some of the highlights below:
With the win, Fundora improves his win streak to five straight, which includes four successful title defenses and gets him closer to a potential big-time fight against Jaron “Boots” Ennis in his next bout. Ennis is the current WBA and WBO Light Middleweight champion, so a win for either man will get them one step closer to becoming the undisputed champion.
Vergil Ortiz is the interim WBC title holder, while Josh Kelly is the current IBF champion. Speaking of which, Kelly could be the only one standing in the way of Fundora getting the “Boots” fight next because there are talks of the two men throwing down in a fight at the end of the year. That said, “The Towering Inferno” could very well complicate things after last night’s dramatic finish.
