Weymouth women’s football sessions seek female coaches

Football 4 Fitness has teamed up with Active Dorset CIO and Redlands Leisure and Community Park to offer women-only football sessions on Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm.

The sessions, aimed at women aged 18 and over of all abilities, combine skills-based activities with small-sided games in a relaxed environment.

Organisers now hope more coaches will get involved to support the sessions and help create a lasting opportunity for women to play football in the town.

Redlands has designated Tuesday evenings as “Lioness Night”, with pitches reserved exclusively for female players.

The venue was also named as one of 30 sites to receive support from the Lionesses Futures Fund.

The initiative aims to build a community of women who can enjoy football, improve their fitness and meet new people.
