Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 7: QB Edition

Week 6 was a respectable week for our Start/Sits. Each QB we suggested you start earned at least 14 points, with Brock Purdy getting 17 and Jordan Love nearly 21. Week 7 is a very important week in fantasy football, as you could be in the middle of separating yourself from the pack by making everyone else look up in the standings. Will it be Jordan Love again? Matthew Stafford or C.J. Stroud? Let's find out.

Let's face it, the Rams need a win. Stafford's pace is still great, as it was last season, but he is getting sacked more this year and has thrown 6 interceptions. As it stands, he ranks QB11. Facing a weak Las Vegas Raiders defense this week should give him more production, as the Raiders have given up 12 touchdowns to opposing QBs in six weeks. Stafford will have a couple of touchdowns in Week 7 and hand Vegas their fourth straight loss to get back on track.

Jared Goff and the Lions will face their heated rival, the Green Bay Packers, this week. Green Bay has been good against opposing QBs, but Jared Goff isn't one of them, with 12 touchdown passes this year and no interceptions. The Packers will face their toughest test in Goff after facing Carson Wentz, Jalon Daniels, Geno Smith, and Tyson Bagent. See the difference? Goff has also scored at least 19 points in every outing this season.

Stroud has been great this season, averaging almost 19 points per game, with 16.5 in five of six starts this season. The Texans will face the New York Giants, who just gave up three touchdowns to the Saints and Tyler Shough. Stroud has emerging young weapons like Jaylin Noel, and you can now add newly acquired Marvin Harrison Jr. to the mix. To simplify things, Stroud is averaging 20-plus points over his last three games. Last season, he only had three games with 20 or more points.

Jones just hasn't returned to his pre-Achilles injury form, and facing the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7 with a Brian Flores-dialed-up defense doesn't look like the game to get things trending upward. Jones was intriguing last season because he could create plays with his legs. Last season against the Atlanta Falcons, he rushed for 53 yards in Week 10; this season, he has only 55 rushing yards through the first six weeks.

The San Francisco 49ers will be the opponent for Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers allow the second-fewest points to opposing QBs and will look to make Penix Jr.'s life miserable. Even if Penix Jr's ribs are okay, he doesn't provide the mobility needed this week to extend plays against the Niners' defense, who fly around the football consistently.

Sam Darnold has only scored more than 13 points in one game this season. It has been a brutal year for him. Defenses have held him to under 12 points on three separate occasions. The Chiefs have held opposing QBs to the fourth-fewest points per game this season. I believe the Chiefs' running game, with Kenneth Walker facing his former team for the first time, will win the time-of-possession battle and keep the ball out of Darnold's hands, decreasing his productivity during Week 7.
