At AEW Worlds End 2025, Jon Moxley defeated Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic Finals and became the new AEW Continental Champion.

The Death Riders leader has gone on to have a dominant reign as the third ever Continental Champion, holding the gold for nearly a year now.

With AEW Full Gear 2026 and the start of this year’s Continental Classic yet to come, fans could see this legendary run about to come to a close in the near future.

Here are four potential options to become the next AEW Continental Champion after Jon Moxley.

Jay White

There is truly no love lost between Jon Moxley and Jay White, dating back to their brief time together in NJPW.

In 2025, it was Moxley and The Death Riders who injured White, costing him over a year of his career.

This led to “Switchblade” and The Bang Bang Gang aligning with The Dogs to attack Moxley, The Death Riders and The Conglomeration.

Now leading the faction known as The Cut, White has zeroed in on Moxley’s AEW Continental Championship and wants to become the man to dethrone him for the gold.

Konosuke Takeshita

Konosuke Takeshita is another individual who is no stranger to Jon Moxley thanks to various battles in AEW.

At AEW Revolution 2026, Moxley defeated Takeshita to retain the AEW Continental Championship.

Despite coming up short in that encounter, Takeshita might have been the man who pushed Mox to the limit the most during this reign.

Wanting to help him rebound from recent losses, “The Alpha” might need to avenge his Revolution loss by becoming the man to take down “The Ace” and take the AEW Continental Championship.

“Hangman” Adam Page

Back at AEW Revolution 2026, MJF defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match to retain the AEW World Championship.

Due to this loss, Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Title. Following his return to the company, “Hangman” stated that he had his eyes on the other championships in the company.

While he has been focused on the AEW World Trios Championships with Brodido, Page may go after singles gold again in the near future.

Repeating what he did at AEW All In: Texas 2025, “Hangman” could be the man who is capable of dethroning Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship sooner rather than later.

Ilja Dragunov

At AEW WrestleDream 2026, Ilja Dragunov made his long awaited debut in All Elite Wrestling.

“The Mad Dragon” has immediately felt like a star who is able to reach the top of the company upon signing.

With the Continental Classic set to begin next month, Dragunov feels like someone who has to be part of this year’s tournament.

Dragunov winning the C2 could see him go through every other competitor in the tournament and become the new AEW Continental Champion.
