The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a bye in Week 7, after two back-to-back games in London and a 34-31 loss to the Houston Texans. Their next opponent is the struggling Indianapolis Colts, another division rival with a long losing streak at EverBank Stadium.
The Jaguars have won 11 consecutive home games against the Colts entering Sunday's matchup, a streak dating back more than a decade. Ten of those wins came in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars' 30-27 victory over Indianapolis at Wembley Stadium in 2016 counted as a Jacksonville home game.
Indianapolis' last victory over the Jaguars on the road came Sept. 21, 2014, when Andrew Luck threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-17 Indianapolis win.
Jacksonville's win streak began the following season with a 51-16 rout of Indianapolis in December 2015. Since then, the Jaguars have found just about every possible way to beat the Colts at home.
There have been blowouts, including a 24-0 shutout in 2022 and a 37-20 win in 2023. There have also been narrow escapes, such as Jacksonville's 37-34 victory in 2024, when Cam Little kicked a 49-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining.
Last season, Jacksonville defeated Indianapolis 36-19 in Week 14 to take sole possession of first place in the AFC South, a lead the Jaguars kept through the rest of the season.
While the circumstances are different this season, Sunday's game could again have significant implications for the division race. Jacksonville enters Week 8 at 4-2 and holds a two-and-a-half-game lead over both Indianapolis and Houston. The Colts fell to 2-5 after Sunday's 16-10 loss to Minnesota, their third consecutive defeat.
Indianapolis still holds the edge in the all-time series, 28-22. But in Jacksonville, the rivalry has belonged almost entirely to the Jaguars for more than a decade. On Sunday, they'll try to make it 12 straight.
