Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has a thigh injury and will miss “a few weeks”, Xabi Alonso said before the Liverpool clash.
The 25-year-old Brazil international missed the Tottenham defeat after hurting himself in training on Oct 23.
Pedro had started well, with five goals and three assists in seven games, but Chelsea say they have enough depth for Liverpool and Manchester United.
