The Colorado Buffaloes may be 2-4 (0-3 Big 12), but after battling No. 11 Utah, the team seems to have found the belief it has lacked for the past month.
Deion Sanders spoke Tuesday about the team's mindset after Utah and said that, despite four straight losses, the team is more together than ever.
"Last week was a tremendous advancement on us showing up together," Sanders said at his weekly presser. "I don't think there were a lot of blemishes. We actially beleived coming out of the locker room for the second half that we were going to come back."
Safety Randon Fontenette echoed his head coach's sentiment, saying Coach Prime's postgame approach, focusing on silver linings and telling the team how proud he was, helped immensely.
"In this moment that we're in, we definitely needed that [approach] as a team," Fontenette said. "That really gelled us together and brought us together. I am very confident in these next six games."
Since Saturday's game against Utah, the team has clearly shifted in attitude and mentality heading into the final six games. The Buffs saw enough against the Utes to believe they can turn their season around, with multiple wins and bowl eligibility still goals.
Sanders added that he thinks the team can beat anyone in the country, but "we have to score the football."
