Fifteen-year-old David Odunukan, a central defender, is being considered for the national team to play in the Tournoi International de Val-de-Marne tournament in France.
Per the Daily Record, the Football Association has informed Rangers of its intention to call up the teenage player. If selected, Odunukan will join the squad in facing France, Italy, and Japan in the under-16 tournament.
Odunukan first gained attention during the SuperCupNI tournament and has continued to be monitored closely by England scouts.
The London-born player moved to Scotland as an infant and has also been involved in the Scotland under-16 training camps.
The Scottish FA is understood to be keen to secure his international future and is also monitoring his progress closely ahead of future age-group selections.
Odunukan is considered one of Rangers' most highly-rated academy players and will become eligible to sign his first professional contract at the turn of the year.
He moved to Rangers last year from Motherwell and is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the club's academy system.
