Celtic have had three different men in the dugout during the past 12 months: Brendan Rodgers, Wilfried Nancy, and currently Martin O’Neill.
When O’Neill replaced Rodgers last October, it was only on an interim basis, as several names were linked with the Parkhead gig, including Nicky Hayen.
Celtic opted to appoint Nancy, and as everyone knows, that went horribly wrong; O’Neill had to be drafted back in, and he is still here today.
But it hasn’t exactly been rosy for Hayen, who took the gig at relegated Burnley in the summer, where he signed Reo Hatate, but they are in a world of trouble in the English Championship.
Despite having one of the biggest budgets in the Championship, including being able to sign a player from the champions of Scotland, Burnley are sitting in the relegation zone.
On top of that, they have former Premier League and Champions League winner Kyle Walker as their captain – yet they are still suffering, not winning at home for 12 months and only one win this season.
That includes Burnley’s 2-1 loss to Wolves on Friday night, a game Hatate started before being subbed off, as the home fans vented their anger after the match.

Just like Daizen Maeda, Hatate has dreamed of playing for a top-five league in Europe, but at this stage, he is heading towards England’s third tier.
There is still a long way to go, but it’s not looking good for the former Hoops star.
