Female trainer left 'terrified' as fans slam college football star for classless move
Kimari Robinson lashed out at a trainer during Saturday's game

Duke cornerback Kimari Robinson drew fierce backlash online after slapping a female trainer's arm away on the field during the Blue Devils' 24-20 loss to UNC

Duke cornerback Kimari Robinson has faced intense online criticism after a physical altercation with a female trainer on the sidelines.

With approximately seven minutes left in the third quarter of Duke's 24-20 defeat to UNC, Blue Devils safety DaShawn Stone went down with an injury while trying to tackle running back Jaylen McGill. As two medical staff members attended to him on the turf, Robinson approached and looked down to assess his teammate's condition.

Shortly after, another female trainer rushed towards the scene and tried to guide Robinson out of the way. The 21-year-old reacted poorly to the move, immediately responding by aggressively swatting her arm away. In other college football news, a Notre Dame star was thrown out for a "dirty" hit mere minutes into the Fighting Irish's most important game of the season.

The female trainer looked visibly stunned by his reaction, while another medical professional, crouched on the field, glanced up with an equally astonished look. Although a stretcher was brought onto the field, Stone ultimately managed to stand up and exit the field on his own.

On social media, countless viewers condemned Robinson for his conduct toward the female trainer.

"Such a classless school duke is," an X user wrote, with another adding: "If I'm the coach #5 would be in my office explaining to me why he thought it was okay to not only push a woman's hands away, but get in the way and not listen to the athletic trainer?"

A third chimed in, "She's getting in position to stabilize his head and body as per spinal injury protocols. This player does not need to stand over his teammate for no reason like that, and in fact, first aid protocols indicate he shouldn't be."

Another fan noted her reaction, adding," The poor girl looked terrified." Even football legend Robert Griffin III shared the video on X and captioned it, "As a man, this just can’t happen. No excuses for it."

Others leaped to Robinson's defense, pointing out that his emotions were likely running high after watching his teammate sustain such a frightening injury.

"I get your point, but the emotions of a kid when someone as close as family is hurting and down isn't a thing to dismiss either. They both obviously care for the down player," one person said.

Someone else argued, "Somehow, you're more concerned for her safety than she was, in the moment she knew it was a mistake in a moment of passion, explained the situation to him without flinching, and continued to do her job."

A separate group of fans maintained that both individuals were at fault. "Both need to be able to know the situation," one viewer wrote.

"She should be a little more considerate of what he potentially could be feeling about his teammates and he needs to give some space. Both can be true."

Someone else added, "Both of them had unneeded contact with each other. The chick has zero business pushing him away like that thinking she's the main character to save the day. And him swinging like that was excessive and an overreaction."
