Miami defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald left the Hurricanes' game Saturday, Oct. 17 with an injury.
In the first quarter against Florida State, Fitzgerald tackled FSU receiver Jayvan Boggs and injured his right shoulder. He jogged off the field with his arm hanging limp. ESPN sideline reporter Quint Kessenich said he was "in a lot of pain" and he went to the locker room.
Later in the first quarter, safety Zechariah Poyser was ejected for targeting on a late hit on FSU quarterback Ashton Daniels.
Just 12 seconds into the game, Jayvan Boggs caught the ball and ran in open space for a 20-yard gain. Bryce Fitzgerald and Dylan Day combined on the tackle, with Fitzgerald going low and absorbing a knee to his right shoulder.
ESPN's Quint Kessenich initially said Miami would be without Fitzgerald the rest of the game, a potentially devastating development when paired with Poyser's ejection. But at the end of the first quarter, Fitzgerald was seen back on the sideline with his full uniform on.
