Bryce Young's strong start to 2026 extended into Week 6, where he accomplished a few interesting feats.
Today's 25-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles was not a pretty one by any means, but quarterback Bryce Young continued to go where no Carolina Panthers quarterback has gone before.
Young struggled against a tough defense, completing just under half of his throws (20-for-39) and leading his offense to a paltry 41.2-percent success rate on third down. Even still, he chalked up 281 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 6 victory.
In so doing, Young became the new franchise leader in touchdown passes through five games—with 11.
Although the Panthers have only been around for 32 years, it's not like Young hasn't had any competition for that honor. Cam Newton won the Most Valuable Player award at the peak of his powers and Jake Delhomme was a Pro Bowler at his best. Both of them wound up leading Carolina to the Super Bowl in their respective eras.
Young also became the first NFL quarterback since 2013 to pass for at least 280 yards and a touchdown in each of his team's first five games of a season. That feat was last accomplished by Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.
