Northern Football Writer at the Telegraph Luke Edwards joined John Anderson and Simon Pryde on BBC Radio Newcastle to discuss the Magpies' difficult start to the season.

Edwards said: "We do not want Matthias Jaissle to go down as Newcastle United's Ruben Amorim. That is where perceptions are going now.

"You've got a manager from abroad who has had some success, comes in, chest-puffed out at the start - 'this is what we are, how we play, this is my philosophy, vertical football, this is what it means'.

"Vertical football just looks like failing football at the moment. Management is about maximising your strengths and masking your weaknesses."
