Ben Johnson: Jeffery Simmons has had a dramatic impact on the Bears

Jeffery Simmons has only been a Bear for a week, but he’s made a huge impact.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson was asked today about what has changed now that Simmons, the All-Pro defensive tackle, is on the team. Johnson said it’s easy to see.

“I think it’s been fairly dramatic. I think you saw it in the game last week. There’s no doubt about it,” Johnson said of Simmons’ impact.

Johnson continued by discussing the importance of players who play great on the field during games but also exude greatness in everything they do during the week.

“We keep preaching to our guys the consistency of how we go about our business, what we do in the building, and what we do on game day. That’s what good teams do. Really, that’s what great teams do, is bring that same juice an energy throughout the week and into the game as well,” Johnson said.

The Bears are hoping the addition of Simmons proves to be the difference between being a good team and a great team.
