The Los Angeles Rams announced four devastating injuries across the span of just seven minutes, which will see key contributors missing significant time.
After entering the season as the odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl, the Rams have sunk to a 2-4 record following a defeat to the struggling Arizona Cardinals on a walk-off field goal.
Now, the four injuries announced on Monday afternoon cast serious doubts on the Rams' ability to recover their season.
The biggest name joining the injury report is star wide receiver Davante Adams, who tore his hamstring, according to Rams head coach Sean McVay. The wideout hurt himself while running a route before coming up lame without any contact on him at all.
Adams is now expected to be out for six to ten weeks, meaning he could be back as late as Week 16 of the season.
With this news, the Rams have now lost their leader in receiving yards (480) and receiving touchdowns (four) for this season.
Immediately after announcing the Adams news, McVay revealed three other devastating injuries.
Rams defensive tackle Poona Ford has been ruled out for the season after rupturing his triceps. Additionally, his fellow DT, Kobie Turner, will be out for between four and six weeks with a groin injury.
Ford and Turner combined for 37 total tackles while Ford also tallied a tackle for a loss this season.
Finally, kicker Blake Grupe, who was brought in this past week after a horrible kicking performance from Harrison Mevis, is now out for the season with a torn ACL. He hurt himself while making a tackle on a kickoff return.
At the time of publishing, the Rams officially have eight players on injured reserve, including superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. Additionally, top cornerback Trent McDuffie missed this past Sunday's game with a groin injury.
Jordan Whittington is now projected to replace Adams at the WR2 spot while the pass rush is expected to be operated by Braden Fiske, Ty Hamilton and Aaron Donald. It's unclear what direction will be taken at the kicking position.
