Marco Rose described his Bournemouth team as "relentless" after they put together five consecutive wins during their EFL Cup victory over Aston Villa.
Bournemouth booked their place in the quarter-finals, and a tie with Liverpool, with a 3-0 win at the Vitality Stadium. Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Alvaro Rodriguez were on target.
The Cherries have enjoyed a superb recent run of form, with last weekend's triumph over Manchester United moving them up to 13th in the Premier League ahead of MD9.
Rose's side welcome Leeds United to the Vitality this Saturday, before they continue their Europa League campaign against Sparta Prague next week.
Speaking after their win over Unai Emery's team, captain Lewis Cook said Bournemouth have the squad to compete for silverware this season, with Rose making eight changes to the side that emerged victorious at Old Trafford.
And the Bournemouth boss agreed with Cook, saying: "Clean sheet and three goals again – I could get used to it, but it's hard work. It was a nice game to watch from both sides, and we are happy that we won.
"We had eight changes, and everyone played at a really good level. We are relentless, so it's the attitude and the effort.
"It showed we have competition, quality and that everyone is ready. That's what we are working for. To create special moments.
"We have had some special moments in the last couple of weeks, but in the end, if we have something to put up in the air, then it's much more special."

Leeds, meanwhile, were forced to settle for a point in their goalless draw with Sunderland last time out, with the conditions not helped by Storm Boelo at the Stadium of Light.
Daniel Farke's side have played out the joint-most draws of any team in the top flight in 2026 (14 – level with Brentford), while their five nil-nil draws are the outright most this year.
They did, however, have several chances to beat Sunderland, including right at the death, but Sean Longstaff saw his goal-bound effort blocked by team-mate Lukas Nmecha.
Ao Tanaka turned in another industrious display in midfield, and he said: "I want to play more minutes and experience more years here. In order to do that, I know I have to continue to show my quality on the pitch so that is my target.
"It is a massive opponent [Bournemouth] for us and it will be a tough game. We will put everything into it, especially as we haven't won in four games.
"We want to get the three points. We have to keep positive though and remember that if we get one point, it is a good point. I will deliver my best performance."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Bournemouth – Marcus Tavernier
Tavernier has been one of Bournemouth's standout performers so far this season, scoring six goals in his last nine Premier League games for the Cherries.
This has comprised of three different runs of scoring in consecutive games, but he has never scored in three in a row before, something he will be hoping to change here.

Leeds – James Trafford
Only David Raya, Bart Verbruggen (both five) and Alisson Becker have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League this season than Trafford's three.
Trafford also has the highest save percentage in the top flight this term (82.4%), the second-highest number of saves (30) and (based on Opta’s xGOT model) the third-highest number of goals prevented (1.9).
MATCH PREDICTION: BOURNEMOUTH WIN
Both Premier League meetings between Bournemouth and Leeds ended 2-2 last season – the four games between the sides in the top-flight have seen 20 goals scored at an average of five per game.
After a run of eight winless Premier League games, Bournemouth have won 2-0 against Sunderland and 3-0 against Manchester United in their last two. They last won three in a row between August and September last season, while they have never done so without conceding in the competition.
Leeds, meanwhile, won 10 of their first 13 league games against Bournemouth (D2 L1) but they are winless in three against the Cherries (D2 L1) since a 4-3 victory in November 2022 in which they came from 3-1 down.
But this game promises to be entertaining, given there's been a 90th-minute goal scored in three of the four Premier League meetings between Bournemouth and Leeds, with the last two being equalising goals by the away side in 2-2 draws in 2025-26.
However, Bournemouth (13) and Leeds (14) are two of the top three teams for most Premier League draws so far in 2026 (Brentford also 14).
Five of Leeds' last seven league games have ended level (W1 L1), with the Whites losing just two of their last 17 (W6 D9).
