Andre Onana involved in horrific car accident

Andre Onana’s Manchester United career fell short of expectations, but this recent incident has left supporters worried about his wellbeing.

Manchester United’s summer clear-outs have become something of an annual ritual at Carrington.

Players who no longer fit the plan are sent out on loan with a polite thank you.

The idea is that they rebuild their value elsewhere and eventually leave for a fee.

In reality the process rarely runs that smoothly, and the wage bill lingers regardless.

Even so, supporters still keep a close eye on how those exiled names are getting on.

Andre Onana involved in horrific car accident

Andre Onana has escaped serious harm after his car was caught up in a multi-vehicle crash in Turkey on Thursday night, as The Sun reports.

The 30-year-old was driving home with his family after helping Trabzonspor beat Hearts 2-0 in the Conference League when another car is reported to have hit his from behind at speed.

The impact pushed his car into the vehicle ahead on the Yomra road, close to Trabzon.

Emergency services attended and the Cameroon international was taken to hospital for checks before being discharged shortly afterwards.

Club president Ertugrul Dogan told local media, “There are no problems with him” and wished the goalkeeper a speedy recovery.

United supporters will remember the former Inter stopper arriving in 2023 and playing 102 times, including lifting the FA Cup after beating Manchester City at Wembley.

His place went after Senne Lammens arrived from Royal Antwerp for €21m and Altay Bayindir was preferred in the opening league games, leaving his only outing that season a Carabao Cup shootout defeat at Grimsby.

He joined Trabzonspor on loan in September 2025, making 34 appearances with 6 clean sheets and 42 goals conceded.

United told his representatives in May he was not in Carrick’s plans, and he returned on a second season-long loan running until June 2027.

Trabzonspor are fourth in the Super Lig.

Turkish reports claim Trabzonspor want a permanent deal, with United reportedly seeking about £8.5million.
