Former LSU basketball star Angel Reese struggles in Game 5 of WNBA Finals

Former LSU women's basketball star Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream fell short in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals on Monday night. The Golden State Valkyries won 64-55 at home to take a 3-2 series lead.

Reese only scored seven points, going two-for-eight from the field. Reese hauled in 15 rebounds and logged five assists, but she turned the ball over three times and committed four personal fouls. The Dream are now on the brink of losing the series and must will back-to-back games to win the title.

The game marked back-to-back games under the 10-point mark for the star forward. An uncharacteristic stretch after Reese had been one of the sport's best players throughout the WNBA playoffs. In the postseason, Reese is averaging 17.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Next up, the Dream return to Atlanta for Game 6 on Thursday. Game 6 was moved to 11:30 AM CT so the Dream could play at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks' home court.
