JJ Gabriel is getting closer to leaving Manchester United officially.
The 16-year-old, after announcing his desire to leave United last month, is now eligible for a European passport, which will allow him to move to a different club.
Barcelona have lined up at the front of the queue to sign Gabriel, holding talks with the young talent to discuss the prospect of a deal.
Gabriel has also held talks with other clubs, including Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, as he tries to choose his next club.
It is Real Madrid who have now emerged from the woodwork to take their position in the battle for the 16-year-old’s services, though.
Madrid have accepted the terms presented by Gabriel and his agent, with this in mind, according to SPORT.
The publication have also said that Real Madrid are prepared to assume the total cost of the transfer, which stands at €10m.
That valuation includes a three-year contract, various bonuses, performance-related incentives, and the player’s performance demands.
At Barcelona, on the other hand, the situation is slightly more uncertain.
Several nuances and uncertainties remain according to SPORT whilst Deco’s stance has been to deny any type of negotiation relating to signing JJ Gabriel.
Bayern, meanwhile, did not submit a formal offer, according to the publication, whilst PSG are aware that Gabriel wanted to continue his career in Spanish football.
That update has created a straight battle between rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid to sign JJ Gabriel.
Barça are reportedly not willing to get into a bidding war for the 16-year-old, instead convincing him through the club’s project, opening the door for Madrid to offer higher numbers.
It remains unclear which strategy will succeed, with the result of that being fundamental in dictating which club Gabriel ultimately chooses.
