Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez might not play tonight against the Bears.

In a surprise announcement Thursday evening, the Patriots announced that Gonzalez has an illness and is questionable for tonight’s game.

The Patriots will have to list their inactive players for tonight in about half an hour.

Gonzalez has already missed two games this season with a shoulder injury, but he was fully healthy and able to play on Sunday against the Jets.

The Patriots’ 2023 first-round draft pick, Gonzalez is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL at his best. New England signed him to a four-year, $135 million contract extension last month, which made him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
