Blackburn Rovers have defied many people's expectations in the early stages of the campaign to have largely avoided being involved in the relegation picture, but they could face a damaging blow in January.
After another quiet summer in which just two fresh faces made their way to Ewood Park, Blackburn were once again tipped for another relegation battle this year, having narrowly avoided the drop last time around and were rebuffed when making a long-term offer for Michael O'Neill.
Instead, Tony Mowbray has returned to the helm in Lancashire and solidified things at his former club, as right now, Blackburn look more like play-off hopefuls rather than relegation candidates.
If Rovers can avoid an injury-plagued campaign, then the sky is the limit, although as the January window rolls around in just a couple of months, there is one obvious blow that has the potential to completely derail their season entirely.
29-year-old goalkeeper Balazs Toth has been one of Blackburn's outstanding performers over the past year or so, and having now become Hungary's undisputed number one, has attracted interest from elsewhere.
Toth has attracted interest from Scottish giants Celtic as recently as this summer, and rejected a fresh deal with Blackburn the other week, with his current terms due to expire at the end of the season, with an exit this January or over the summer looking increasingly likely.

Blackburn may look to cash in during the January window, as Celtic will surely be in the race for his services once again. However, it would be a surprise if numerous Championship rivals weren't interested in striking a deal for the Hungarian on the cheap.
With Toth's future hanging in the balance, Football League World has taken a look at two Championship clubs that should be considering moves for the 29-year-old this January, in what would be a critical blow to Blackburn and their season.
A suggestion that is bound to stir up some controversy on one side of Lancashire, as Burnley could well be in the market for a new goalkeeper in January.
Nicky Hayen's side have had an abysmal start to life back in the Championship following relegation last season, and having seen Martin Dubravka leave on a free transfer for Tottenham Hotspur, they decided to put their faith in the ability of German shot-stopper Max Weiss.
In short, Weiss has had a catastrophic start to the season, and has since lost his place between the sticks to summer signing Gregoire Coudert, who was initially signed as a backup.
In any case, Burnley will be on the lookout for a long-term number one after Weiss' struggles, and Toth could be an excellent fit in more ways than one.
Directly damaging a local rival by taking one of their best players is something that would surely entice any club, and Burnley will be no different in this sense.
Though with a clear need to improve their goalkeeping department, Toth would slot straight in at Turf Moor and provide a steady pair of hands, and if he decides he doesn't want to change location, a switch of jobs down the road could suit him down to the ground, as Burnley should look to complete this switch, which is bound to heat tensions in Lancashire.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, like Burnley, dropped back into the Championship from the Premier League last season after a disappointing relegation, and like the Clarets, are looking to ensure they don't stick around too long in the second tier.
The Old Gold haven't quite been at their best under Cesar Peixoto at this stage, and though they haven't performed as they could, there is a lot of room for improvement across the board, especially between the sticks.
Goals win games, and defences win titles, and as for Wolves, their defence is far too fragile right now, as Jose Sa has struggled to adapt to life in the English second tier.
Sa, 33, according to FotMob, has allowed in 3.88 more goals than expected at this stage of the season already, and if he doesn't undergo a serious upturn in form sooner rather than later, will find himself being replaced come winter.
If Wolves are on the lookout for a reliable pair of hands in the second tier on the cheap, they don't come much better than Toth, who would be an instant upgrade on the five-capped Portuguese international at this point in their careers.
Wolves will certainly have the money to tempt Toth, and if they can get their noses ahead of Celtic in the race, their is no reason why the Hungarian couldn't be in the Black Country by January.
