Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has strengthened his hold on the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings, while West Indies captain Shai Hope has broken into the top 10 of the T20I batting charts.
Rashid claimed figures of 4-17 against Zimbabwe in the ODI tri-series in Abu Dhabi, as Afghanistan registered a commanding 158-run victory on Monday. The performance has taken him to 742 rating points, tightening his grip at the top of the ICC bowling charts. He is now 80 points clear of second-placed Abrar Ahmed, who has 662 points.
There is one other change in the top five rankings for ODI bowlers, with Kuldeep Yadav moving up a spot to No.5, replacing Maheesh Theekshana. He picked up seven wickets in three ODIs against the West Indies at the start of the month. Keshava Maharaj and Mitchell Santner are ranked No.3 and 4, respectively.
Afghanistan batter Sediqullah Atal was another major beneficiary of the latest update. His 102 helped Afghanistan post 294 after choosing to bat first, earning him a 12-place rise to 20th in the ODI batting rankings.
Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed made significant progress in the bowling rankings, moving up nine places to a career-best 12th following figures of three for 44 against Zimbabwe in the tri-series.
