Georgia football rises in AP Poll rankings during bye week

The Georgia Bulldogs lost to the Auburn Tigers a week ago, and they dropped in the AP Top-25 as a result, going from No. 1 to No. 5. They were on a bye this week, and even though they didn't have a game, they were able to rise back up in the rankings.

Georgia is now ranked No. 3 in both the AP Poll and the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs benefited from more top-10 upsets in Week 8 college football action.

BYU lost to UCF in an overtime game and fell all the way to No. 2 from No. 8. Miami stayed at No. 1 with their victory over Pittsburgh, and Ohio State was able to climb back to No. 2. Notre Dame losing to BYU a week ago also helped Georgia. The Bulldogs are now ranked third in the AP Top-25. Three SEC teams are also in the top 10.

Georgia will face the Florida Gators on Saturday, October 31 in Atlanta. Florida is ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll.
