The rollercoaster kicking situation in Los Angeles finally provided a landing spot for former Green Bay Packers kicker Brandon McManus.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Rams are signing McManus following a workout on Tuesday. He apparently beat out veteran Matt Prater, who was also at the workout.
The Packers released McManus on May 8 after selecting Trey Smack in the sixth round of the 2026 draft. He has not been on another team since the release.
Over 25 regular season games with the Packers, McManus made 44 of 51 field goal attempts (86.1 percent) and 62 of 63 extra points (98.4 percent). However, McManus went 1-for-4 on field goals and 4-for-5 on extra points during two postseason games with the Packers, including a three-miss disaster against the Chicago Bears in last season's NFC Wild Card Round. The Packers lost by four points in a game in which McManus left seven points on the field.
McManus originally joined the Packers in October of the 2024 season, replacing rookie Brayden Narveson. Now, he'll go to Los Angeles to try to solve the Rams' on-going kicking issues. Sean McVay replaced Harrison Mevis with Blake Grupe in Week 6, but Grupe tore his ACL on Sunday and will miss the rest of the season.
Can McManus, who turned 35 in July, provide stability for the Rams, who are currently 2-4 and one of the NFL's most disappointing teams?
The Packers face the Rams in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Eve in Week 12.
