Canelo Alvarez will attempt to take Christian Mbilli’s WBC super middleweight title this Saturday night (Oct. 31, 2026) in his much-anticipated return to action in Riyadh Saudi Arabia UAE, his first fight in over a year. It’s a fight that is expected to result in a whopping $47 million payday for Alvarez.
Before the two men get it on inside the ring and cash their mega-checks, the two took part in the customary pre-fight press conference in Riyadh. Afterward they took part in the pre-fight staredown to get fight fans hype for the title fight that is taking place in a part of the world that is not exactly the safest at the moment.
That said, the events going down in Saudi Arabia do not seem to bother Alvarez.
“I feel very good. I’m happy. My mind has always been on fighting in Saudi Arabia. Obviously, I heard everything that was being said and all that, but my mind was always focused on fighting in Saudi Arabia,” he told ESPN.
“I was training here [Spain] to fight in Saudi Arabia, and whatever happens, we’ll see. But I’ve always been focused on the fact that the fight is there.”
