FC Schalke 04 have confirmed they will be without key attacking option Moussa Sylla for the foreseeable future.

According to the club, this is due to a left leg injury sustained by the striker in the 1-2 defeat against SC Freiburg.

The Gelsenkirchen outfit announced that striker will therefore be unavailable for the time being after medical tests were conducted.

Sylla has featured in four of Schalke's five Bundesliga matches, but the 26-year-old is still waiting for his first Bundesliga goal or assist.

Due to his injury, he will have to wait a while longer. It's also clear he will be absent when Schalke plays Mainz 05 this Saturday.
