Man Utd vs Leeds player ratings as more points dropped for Michael Carrick with yet another draw, this time 1-1 at Elland Road.
A surprisingly solid Man Utd repelled Leeds with strong organisation, and they created chances on transition, ultimately taking one through Bryan Mbeumo in the first half.
The year football boots peaked
A slow start to the second half saw Man Utd get caught napping in the box, allowing Calvert-Lewin to score the equaliser.
United remained the second-best team but didn’t concede a winner, which is no help to Michael Carrick in a campaign that continues to go nowhere.
Made a brilliant save to keep the score goalless, and United scored soon after.
Started at right-back again but looked unfazed. He’s finally taking a leap.
Dealt with Calvert-Lewin’s threat extremely well until he scored in the second half.
Solid, like Maguire, and pinged some good passes to put the Atletico game behind him.
Some wasteful moments in the final third but for a right-back playing out of position, he did well.
Kept the ball circulating and his positional discipline ensured United didn’t leave an open midfield.
Immense presence in the centre on and off the ball. He’s changed the dynamic of this midfield with his dynamism.
A willing runner who kept Leeds honest on transitions. Didn’t get many chances, but his presence was crucial.
Santos and Baleba picking up the slack defensively allowed him to focus on creating magic with the ball, and he loved it. Assisted Mbeumo’s goal.
The odd one out in this new system as he has been shifted to the left. Frustrated and booked. He powered Carrick’s success, now he’s scripting his failure.
The enigma that is Mbeumo again scored despite a generally poor performance where he missed a good chance as well. Still, you can’t argue against end product.
Didn’t look very convincing in either phase, and was clearly rattled by Leeds’ physicality.
Ran around but no end product. Sums up his Man Utd career.
Came on late but should have come on earlier. Always tries to play it forward.
