Tom Brady gushes over Caleb Williams with questionable comment live on FOX
Tom Brady used the word 'gyrating' during an NFL broadcast

FOX Sports analyst Tom Brady raised eyebrows with his choice of words while gushing over Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

With just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter of the Bears’ 31-23 win over the Falcons — during which linebacker Kendal Daniels suffered a terrifying injury — Williams connected with wide receiver Luther Burden III, who slipped past cornerback Mike Hughes before tiptoeing down the sideline for a 25-yard gain.

Brady wasted no time giving Burden his flowers, stating: “He’s such a twitchy receiver. He’s selling the go route, and then he just hits the brakes. And then [Mike] Hughes kind of has his eyes in the backfield. But you’re twitchy like that.”

Turning his attention to Williams’ bullet pass, Brady added: “You stop quickly, and then with that accurate throw, that ball is gyrating coming out of Caleb’s hands.”

As play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt chuckled to himself, Brady continued to heap praise on Williams. “I mean, there is some smoke on the football when he cuts it loose,” he said.

Burkhardt conceded that Brady’s use of “gyrating” took him off guard, noting: “I’ve never heard that term used to describe a pass before.”

Taking to social media, droves of viewers similarly poked fun at Brady’s football vocabulary. “Tom Brady is funny, that ball is ‘Gyrating.’ Ain’t ever heard somebody describe a football like that lol,” an X user wrote, with another adding: “Did NOT like the way Tom Brady said gyrating in my ear.”

A third chimed in, “Tom Brady just said the football was ‘gyrating’ …. Tom it’s kids watching bro lmao.”

Others accused Brady of showing his Bears bias while repeatedly singing Chicago’s praises. “Tom Brady sounding like a bears fan right now,” one person said. Someone else noted, “Tom Brady really loves our Bears hahahahaha.”

Later on in the contest, however, Brady did not mince words while addressing a series of mistakes made by Bears tight end Colston Loveland.

After Loveland was called for a holding penalty on Falcons’ Avieon Terrell, Brady urged the Michigan product to be more disciplined about how he blocks defensive backs.

“They’re much quicker than you, so you can’t sustain those blocks for very long,” Brady explained. “And you’re always hoping you hold their jersey, but as soon as they start to escape away you just have to have the discipline to let go.

“Come on, you’re a Michigan Man. You should know that, Colston Loveland!”

Then, in the closing two minutes of the second quarter, Loveland failed to haul in a touchdown pass that was somewhat thrown behind him. Yet Brady argued that the 22-year-old was to blame for the incompletion, arguing he should’ve “hunkered down” at the pylon rather than sprinting towards the sideline.

“Loveland sprinting to the water cooler. That’s not what you want,” Brady quipped.
