56-year-old rapper Jay-Z will headline his first Super Bowl halftime show, as confirmed by Apple Music online at the start of halftime of ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' production of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup.

In what was likely a coordinated effort — ABC/ESPN will air Super Bowl XLI — ESPN host Scott Van Pelt shared the news live on air to panelists Jason McCourty and Jason Kelce, who pretended to act surprised.

The Cowboys-Eagles broadcast, headlined by bubbling tension between commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman amid their looming split, then went to commercial playing the hit Jay-Z song "Dirt Off Your Shoulder."
