Xabi Alonso was delighted to see his team get a win and a clean sheet against Everton today, but his thoughts have quickly turned to next week’s game.
Without European football to worry about, there are no distractions as the Blues look to add a third win on the spin to continue their rise up the table. Speaking to TNT Sport, Alonso noted that the next game was one that fans would be looking forward to.
“We have another three Premier League games before the next international break, two of them at home. Tottenham and Man U. We need to go game by game, knowing that Tottenham at home is the next one… it will be a nice one.”
He said it with a straight face, but we all know what he means. It got feisty enough today against Everton, we can only imagine how much aggro there could potentially be when a struggling Spurs team come to Stamford Bridge next weekend.

Pedro Neto was the key man today, scoring twice for the Blues and racking up some good stats in the process.
The air was really taken out of the game by the horrible collision which saw Emi Martinez taken off on a stretcher.
Chelsea risked a red card as tensions boil over at the Hill Dickinson, but this goal should ease the tension majorly.
