Ireland centre Garry Ringrose is expected to miss next month's Nations Championship fixtures due to a hamstring injury.

The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) has confirmed that the 31-year-old is "unlikely" to feature in Ireland's home matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa.

He has remained with Leinster to continue his rehabilitation.

Ringrose finally secured his first British and Irish Lions selection in 2025 after narrowly missing out on the previous two tours.

Although concussion ruled him out of the Test series, he impressed during the warm-up matches and helped the Lions secure a historic series victory in Australia.

The centre made his Ireland debut in 2016 after impressing at junior level. He has since won three Six Nations titles, including two Grand Slams, alongside numerous honours with Leinster.

Ireland could also be without fly-half Sam Prendergast for next week's opening match against Argentina in Dublin.

The 23-year-old remains a doubt due to a wrist injury and is continuing his recovery with the Ireland squad after missing Leinster's game against Munster.

Leinster winger Jimmy O'Brien is also following return-to-play protocols after suffering a concussion against Munster.

Head coach Andy Farrell is meanwhile awaiting the outcome of a potential ban for Tadhg Furlong.

The 33-year-old prop has been cited over an alleged incident involving Munster forward Gavin Coombes, with Furlong accused of grabbing his opponent by the genitals during Leinster's 24-18 victory on Saturday.

If found guilty, Furlong could face a ban ranging from 12 weeks to four years.

His potential absence could force further changes to Farrell's plans, but Ringrose's fitness is an immediate concern for Ireland ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

Ireland beat Australia and Japan before losing to New Zealand during the southern hemisphere leg of the Nations Championship in July.

Farrell's side face Argentina on 6 November before hosting Fiji on 14 November and back-to-back world champions South Africa on 21 November.

Ireland will then compete during the competition's finals weekend at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, the following weekend.
