After a month-long break, the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League returns today, with as many as nine games set to be played out. While all games promise high-intensity action, the clash between Premier League champions Arsenal and France's Lille Olympique Sporting Club (LOSC) stands out.
Both teams are off to a strong start in their respective domestic leagues, each sitting second with just one defeat from their opening seven matches. Their recent form isn't too shabby, either. After facing a defeat before the international break, both teams bounced back with wins on Saturday.
Another common thread between the two teams is 40-year-old striker Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman, who was a fan favorite at Arsenal FC from 2012 to 2018, moved to play for Lille last year. Interestingly, current Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Giroud were former teammates, and they lifted the FA Cup together in 2015.
With both teams in good form, fans can expect a humdinger at the Emirates today. If you're excited, here are all the details you need to watch the Arsenal vs. Lille UCL game live using a streaming subscription or VPN.

Since both teams are coming off decent victories, their respective head coaches have little reason to shake things up. However, with each Champions League victory crucial to progressing toward the next round, neither would want to rest their big guns, either.
For Arsenal, Arteta may consider bringing back Jurriën Timber into the mix, since the right-back returned from his long injury break on Saturday. Bruno Guimarães also scored in that game and may be promoted from the bench to the starting XI. All things considered, here's what we expect Arteta to go with:
Arsenal (possible XI, 4-2-3-1): Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Guimaraes; Saka, Ødegaard, Madueke; Havertz.
Lille, on the other hand, suffered a major injury blow in their last match; right-back Tiago Santos got caught in a rash tackle from Le Havre midfielder Amir Richardson and had to be taken off on a stretcher. Medical reports later found that he had suffered an ACL tear and will be sidelined for several months while he recovers. Such was the nature of the tackle that Lille are now reportedly considering legal action. Apart from the forced Santos replacement, Lille manager Davide Ancelotti, son of the legendary Carlo Ancelotti, is expected to make few or no changes.
Lille OSC (possible XI, 4-2-3-1): Özer; Goffi, Nianzou, Alexsandro, Verdonk; Bentalab, Kjærgaard; Bakwa, Mukau, Perrin; Ueda.
