Micah Parsons called out 2 suspect roughing-the-passer calls that cost the Packers

It's hard enough trying to play defense in the modern NFL. Now try to do it when the offensive players, especially the quarterbacks, usually get all of the benefit of the doubt. That's kind of what happened to the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

While the Packers made their fair share of self-inflicted mistakes in a close 20-17 defeat, a slew of controversial penalties — especially two roughing-the-passer calls on Detroit quarterback Jared Goff — opened the door to the Lions getting a big NFC North win while sending the Packers to last place in the NFC North. And beyond the frustrated defenders on the field, Packers franchise pass-rushing talisman Micah Parsons, who is still recovering from his ACL tear last season, might have been the biggest critic of said roughing calls.

In reaction, Parsons took to his X account in the middle of the game to tag both the NFL and NFL officiating accounts before furiously telling them that the NFL should switch to flag football if every hit on a quarterback will be roughing. This was Parsons going to bat for his guys for getting screwed in a big divisional game:

Once upon a time, we didn't know what a catch was in the NFL. (We kind of still don't?) Then, we didn't know what interference or illegal contact really was. (We kind of still don't?) Now, after watching the Packers' loss to Detroit, I'm not entirely sure anyone knows what roughing the passer is on a consistent basis.
