PORTLAND — The Phoenix Suns played horribly in their season opener, losing 124-83 Oct. 21 to the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.

Meanwhile, several former Suns shined in their first game of the 2026-27 season, with one being Blazers forward Toumani Camara.

A second-round pick by Phoenix in the 2023 NBA Draft, Camara never played a regular-season game for the Suns, who dealt him to Portland in a three-team trade involving Damian Lillard, Deandre Ayton, Jusuf Nurkic and Grayson Allen before the 2023-24 season.

Camara finished Wednesday’s game with 18 points, going 4-of-7 from 3, in 22 minutes.

Here are some other former Suns who showed out in their season openers.

Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet didn’t fare so well in their season opener Oct. 20 for the defending champion New York Knicks.

The two former Suns combined for nine points on 4-of-15 shooting in a 106-100 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, but they got their championship rings.
