The Denver Broncos have released their depth chart ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.
The Broncos made several roster moves last weekend, including placing running back RJ Harvey (knee) on IR and promoting safety Taylor Rapp from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Denver also elevated offensive lineman Gavin Ortega and running back Cody Schrader from the practice squad to the game-day roster in Week 8.
Note that despite coming straight from the team, the club calls this an "unofficial" depth chart. However, it should still provide a rough idea of how players stack up, though perhaps with a few caveats.
Here's a look at the official "unofficial" depth chart from the Broncos ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers.
QB1: Bo Nix
QB2: Jarrett Stidham
QB3: Sam Ehlinger
Jarrett Stidham is the primary backup quarterback, a role he has held since Sean Payton arrived in 2023. Sam Ehlinger has remained loyal to the team as QB3 despite drawing interest from other clubs.
RB1: J.K. Dobbins
RB2: Jonah Coleman
[Practice squad: Cody Schrader]
Jonah Coleman clearly appears to be the team's best running back, but the "unofficial" depth chart from the team still lists J.K. Dobbins as the starter. Denver also has Cody Schrader available on the practice squad.
WR: Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin
WR: Jaylen Waddle, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
WR: Courtland Sutton
Pat Bryant (ankle) is eligible to return from injured reserve this week. Lil'Jordan Humphrey provided depth at the position while Bryant was sidelined.
TE1: Evan Engram
TE2: Adam Trautman
TE3: Nate Adkins
TE4: Dallen Bentley
FB: Adam Prentice
Dallen Bentley has been a healthy scratch for every game so far this season. If no injuries pop up, the seventh-round draft pick might have to wait until his second season to get an opportunity.
LT: Garett Bolles, Matt Peart
LG: Ben Powers, Kage Casey
C: Luke Wattenberg, Alex Forsyth
RG: Quinn Meinerz, Kage Casey
RT: Mike McGlinchey, Alex Palczewski
Kage Casey is listed as the backup guard for both spots, but Alex Palczewski filled in when left guard Ben Powers was injured last season. Palczewski is probably the top backup for both guard spots and right tackle.
DE: Zach Allen, Jordan Jackson, Tyler Onyedim
NT: D.J. Jones, Sai'vion Jones
DE: Malcolm Roach, Eyioma Uwazurike
Malcolm Roach (321 snaps) is listed as a starter, but Eyioma Uwazurike (303 snaps) has also been a key part of the defensive line rotation.
OLB: Nik Bonitto, Que Robinson
OLB: Jonathon Cooper, Dondrea Tillman
Jonathon Cooper (felony assault case) has a trial by jury scheduled for March, but he was reinstated by the NFL ahead of Week 7 and is back in the team's starting lineup.
LB: Alex Singleton, Jordan Turner
LB: Justin Strnad, Karene Reid
Denver also has seventh-round draft pick Red Murdock providing additional depth on the practice squad.
CB1: Pat Surtain, Jahdae Barron
CB2: Riley Moss, Kris Abrams-Draine
Nickel: Ja’Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine did an excellent job stepping up while Pat Surtain and Riley Moss were sidelined. PS2 and Moss have since returned from their injuries.
S: Talanoa Hufunga, JL Skinner, Tycen Anderson
S: Brandon Jones, Devon Key, Taylor Rapp
Seventh-round draft pick Miles Scott is also available on the practice squad.
K: Wil Lutz
P: Jeremy Crawshaw
LS: Mitchell Fraboni
KR: Marvin Mims
PR: Marvin Mims, Riley Moss
Marvin Mims is on pace for 1,072 all-purpose yards this season, which would be the lowest total of his career. After Payton said he wanted to get Mims more offensive touches last week, the receiver got three targets and two carries.
