Texas A&M vs. Alabama - What is the Aggies' series record?

A&M travels to Alabama for the first time since 2022. Here's a look at the Aggies' all-time series record, previous meetings and notable victories.

Texas A&M returns to SEC play Saturday, traveling to Tuscaloosa to face No. 13 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in a matchup between two teams looking to get their conference seasons back on track.

The Aggies improved to 4-3 following a 41-0 victory over The Citadel last weekend but remain 1-3 in conference play. The shutout provided a much-needed confidence boost after consecutive SEC losses, although Texas A&M still has plenty to prove against tougher competition. Alabama enters the matchup 5-2 after consecutive losses to Georgia and Tennessee, including a 26-10 defeat to the Volunteers last Saturday.

Saturday also gives Texas A&M a chance to end its struggles in Tuscaloosa, where the Aggies haven't won since Johnny Manziel led them to a memorable upset in 2012. The programs haven't met since 2023, ending a 12-year stretch of annual meetings.

Here is a look at the series history between Texas A&M and Alabama.

Texas A&M and Alabama first met in the 1942 Cotton Bowl, with the Crimson Tide winning 29-21. The Aggies won their next postseason meeting, defeating Alabama 20-16 in the 1968 Cotton Bowl.

The programs met twice more before Texas A&M joined the SEC in 2012. The Aggies made an immediate impression in their first conference matchup, upsetting No. 1 Alabama 29-24 in Tuscaloosa behind eventual Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

Alabama dominated the following years, winning eight consecutive meetings before Texas A&M snapped the streak with a 41-38 upset at Kyle Field in 2021. Seth Small kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Crimson Tide have won the last two meetings and hold a 10-2 advantage since Texas A&M joined the SEC. The Aggies' only victory in Tuscaloosa came in 2012, and Alabama has won five straight home games in the series.
