Away from the timesheets, Russell was involved in a tense moment with Leclerc, with the two drivers coming extremely close to making contact.
The Mercedes driver moved alongside Leclerc, with the incident resulting in the Ferrari driver being forced off the track. Despite the close proximity between the two cars, both managed to avoid a collision. The incident caught the attention of the stewards, who noted the encounter between Russell and Leclerc during the session.
However, after reviewing the incident, the stewards decided to take no further action against the Mercedes driver just a few minutes later.
