The 2026 WNBA Finals are tied at 3-3 between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream. The Dream beat the Valkyries in Game 6, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 on Saturday in San Francisco.
Each team is chasing its first WNBA championship. Only one game now stands between either franchise and the title. Then came the news that sent the market into a frenzy.
According to TickPick, Game 7 briefly carried a $396 get-in price on Oct. 29, which the marketplace called the highest for any WNBA game on record. That is a sharp contrast to Game 6 in Atlanta, where tickets fell as low as about $23 after the early tip time. That game was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
As news of the historic ticket prices circulated on social media, reactions from WNBA fans soon poured in.
According to SeatGeek figures cited in late October 2026, the average ticket price for a WNBA game this season was $139. Against that backdrop, fans continued reacting to Game 7’s reported $396 get-in price.
“Breaking the bank damn,” said one fan, whereas another one wrote, “Another narrative down the drain.”
Interestingly, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming Finals game.
Kerr suggested that the pressure of a winner-take-all championship game could turn the contest into a “street fight,” emphasizing the physicality and intensity both teams will likely bring. Following Kerr’s remarks, one fan suggested that the entire Warriors roster could attend the game to support the Valkyries.
“The whole Warriors team is gonna be in attendance,” thefan said.
Three-day general admission passes for Coachella 2026 started at $649 for Weekend 1 and $549 for Weekend 2. Now, with the get-in price for the WNBA Finals reportedly reaching $396, one user humorously compared the championship showdown to the popular music festival.
“A $396 get-in price is the WNBA Finals becoming Coachella with a shot clock,” the user wrote.
Game 7 is set for Saturday, October 31. Whatever the final cost of admission, they are paying for history. It is the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history, as mentioned before, and there will be a first-time champion either way.
