France are set to lose one of their biggest stars for the entire Nations Championship campaign this autumn.

According to L'Equipe, Thomas Ramos will miss all four matches after suffering a setback with a thigh injury he first picked up in September.

The fullback had returned to training but is now reported to have aggravated the injury. France have decided to rest him for the rest of the autumn rather than risk making the problem worse.

Les Bleus will face Fiji, South Africa and Argentina at home before travelling to Allianz Stadium for the Finals Weekend.

They will aim to finish as the highest-ranked Northern Hemisphere side to give themselves a chance of winning the first Nations Championship.

Ramos' absence will be a major blow, especially given his importance as France's main goal kicker. His accuracy from the tee has proved vital on many occasions, including the 2026 Six Nations.

He kicked the winning penalty with the final kick of the game against England to secure the title for France.

Head coach Fabien Galthié is expected to name his 42-man squad on Wednesday ahead of their opening match against Fiji in Lyon on November 7.

France are already dealing with injuries to several key players, including Matthieu Jalibert, Emmanuel Meafou and Julien Marchand.

Ramos earned his first France call-up for the 2019 Six Nations and made his debut off the bench against England.

He has since become a key player for Les Bleus, helping them win the 2022 Six Nations Grand Slam and the 2025 and 2026 championships.

He also finished as the tournament's top scorer for four years in a row, from 2023 to 2026.

Ramos was part of the France squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where they lost to eventual winners South Africa.

In 2025, he overtook Frédéric Michalak to become France's all-time leading points scorer. He then reached the 500-point mark in international rugby in February 2026.

Away from international rugby, Ramos' club future is already settled.

He is set to leave Toulouse for Top 14 rivals Racing 92 on a three-year contract after the 2027 Rugby World Cup, bringing his long spell at the club to an end after more than a decade.
