Broncos 'outrageously' checked in on Trey McBride's trade status

The Denver Broncos might be willing to swing big ahead of the NFL's trade deadline on Tuesday.

"The Denver Broncos have checked in around the league on tight ends, going so far as to ambitiously -- and some would say outrageously -- check on Cardinals star Trey McBride," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Saturday.

We already knew that Denver coach Sean Payton is a big fan of McBride, so it's no surprise that the Broncos "checked" in on the tight end's status. That said, Arizona "made it very clear they have zero intention of trading McBride, and Denver turned its attention elsewhere," according to Scehfter.

So, it sounds like the superstar tight end won't end up with the Broncos ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, but the tight end spot in general remains a position to watch. We will track all of Denver's latest news and rumors leading up to the deadline on Broncos Wire.
