Charles Barkley pointed out that his former teammate Eddie Johnson was right to criticise Draymond Green for defending Yaxel Lendeborg after his incident with Luka Doncic.
The Golden State Warriors rookie got into a heated on-court incident with Luka Doncic in the Dubs’ first game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Slovenian ended up dropping 28 points in a 127-105 win for the Purple and Gold.
After the game, Lendeborg called out Doncic in his press conference, and later Draymond Green backed him up as critics were against the idea of a rookie trash-talking a star player.
Green specifically called out Johnson for his comments on the rookie, stating the former player was a ‘clown’ for not allowing the 24-year-old to speak his mind.
However, Johnson got backing from NBA legend Charles Barkley, who knows a thing or two about talking trash.
Lendeborg has been splendid since the game against the Lakers. However, his comments on Doncic have grabbed a lot of attention, with many having contrasting opinions.
Barkley, who has had many heated incidents on the court, seemed to disagree with Green, who felt that Lendeborg was free to talk the way he did to any star player, especially Doncic, who was making life really hard for the Warriors in that game.
“You’re 100% right, when you’re getting your a** kicked, you definitely better shut the he** up. We had that game, they were down 30, you’re calling out Luka and y’all are down 30, this is your first game, you’re down 30 and you’re worried about Luka talking trash to you. Come on man, stop that. You are 100% right and Draymond was wrong,” said Barkley while talking to Johnson on SiriusXM Radio.
“[Eddie], you’re 100% right, and Draymond was wrong.”

MORE YAXEL LENDEBORG STORIES
Lendeborg backing himself has worked out well, as he is averaging 22.6 points and 9.2 rebounds. These are numbers that have helped him become one of the favourites in the Rookie of the Year race.
While his comments on Doncic have divided the NBA, the former Michigan Wolverines player has not changed his attitude and continues to go at his opponents when the Warriors play.
The Warriors are set to take on the Lakers and Lendeborg has already expressed his excitement to meet Doncic, who took rest against the Los Angeles Clippers. While he is still a rookie, the Warriors player is already one of the must-see players in the league due to the tenacity and level of competitiveness he brings to the game. The Warriors will be looking to use this to secure their third straight win of the season.
