The Buffalo Bills head into their Week 7 bye riding high after a 5-1 start that has firmly established them as one of the NFL's top Super Bowl contenders.

With Josh Allen playing at an MVP level, Buffalo has looked like a team capable of making a serious championship run, and the extra week of rest offers a chance to regroup before the second half of the season gets underway.

The Bills' only blemish so far has come against the New England Patriots, leaving them with an impressive record and plenty of momentum heading into the break.

First-year head coach Joe Brady deserves plenty of credit for getting this team firing on all cylinders. Buffalo has looked poised, confident and capable of competing with anyone, raising hopes that this could finally be the season the franchise puts everything together.

The road to a Super Bowl remains long, but the early returns are encouraging. Bills Mafia has every reason to believe this could be the year Buffalo finally circles the wagons and makes a run at the Lombardi Trophy.

The timing of the bye could prove valuable, too. DJ Moore missed the last two games before the break, and the wide receiver is expected to use the extra time to recover.

With the Bills getting a chance to reset, what does the rest of Buffalo’s 2026 schedule look like?

Are the Bills playing today?

One-third of the way through the NFL season, the Bills get a chance to put their feet up and catch their breath with a Week 7 bye. Buffalo is one of four teams enjoying the week off, joining the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders. No game-day stress, no injury report worries, just a little midseason R&R.

Of course, the vacation won't last long. The Bills return to action Week 8 against an always-dangerous Baltimore Ravens squad that will likely have Lamar Jackson back under center. Things get even trickier in Week 9, when Buffalo hits the road for a primetime showdown against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings (5-0).
