Michael Carrick has a number of concerns heading into the clash against Leeds(Image: Alvaro Medranda/Quality Sport Images/Getty Images)
Manchester United boss Michael Carrick will have had a stressful week as he looks to prove himself worthy of the job at Old Trafford. In addition to trying to turn around the form that has seen them fail to win their last five matches, he has been forced to endure the fallout from Lisandro Martinez's outburst and a lengthy injury list.
A total of 10 players could miss United's clash with Leeds this weekend, and seven of the players are in United colours. In some areas, Carrick's hands already look tied.
He will anxiously await whether Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo are available for the trip to Elland Road. Diogo Dalot was forced to deputise at left-back against Atletico Madrid, while Ayden Heaven provided cover on the opposite flank.

Noussair Mazraoui could provide some depth in that position as he nears his return to action, with Patrick Dorgu still out for a number of weeks. The Morocco international could be with the group this weekend, though his involvement is far from certain.
"Hopefully, we've got Nous back involved with us," Carrick said. "He's done a little bit of training, so he'll be back around the group, which is a good step in the right direction for us."
United will be without an out-and-out striker for another week to, with Benjamin Sesko unavailable to take on Leeds. A timeline for his return will soon emerge.
"Ben is kind of still undergoing a couple of checks before we update on timelines," Carrick explained. "We’re just trying to be clear with what that looks like. He’s still a little bit further away, but when we know, we’ll let you know."
Carrick is also without long-term absentees Manuel Ugarte and Tom Heaton.
Daniel Farke, meanwhile, has fewer concerns. The Leeds boss does face an anxious wait over ex-Manchester United star Dan James, however.
"After his back problems, he was obviously out for around 10 days, missed also the last final game for his national team," Farke said previewing the game. "So, since yesterday, he was back on the pitch with us.
"Right now, we have to wait how his body reacts. But at least good news with him - he seems to be improved."
Leeds will be without defender Joe Rodon, who is now entering the latter stages of his recovery, having initially been ruled out for 10 weeks. "Joe will still miss this game," Farke explained.
"We spoke at the beginning of this injury. It would last 8-10 weeks. I think we are right now on week seven, so he is edging closer. He is doing good progress with his rehab work, so it won’t be too long until he is back in team training."
Mateo Joseph remains out as he recovers from his ACL injury.
