The Indiana Fever have some of the top players in the WNBA right now but their 2026 season ended in disappointing fashion.

Indiana ended up finishing sixth in the regular season with a record of 28-16, which saw them put against the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of this year’s playoffs.

But the Fever were beaten 2-1 in the series and Rachel DeMita has now expressed that she was most mad about the team’s lack of identity and inability to ‘figure it out’ with ‘this big three’ (Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston), suggesting they have ‘no excuse’ for not winning.

When speaking about the Fever on No Offseason: The Athletic Women’s Basketball Show, she said: “They never had an identity this entire season. And that was the thing that was most maddening to me because I’m like, you have three All-Star players, All-WNBA First Team players, and you can’t figure it out with this big three?

“There is no excuse for not‌ winning.”

It is easy to see why DeMita appears frustrated when looking at the likes of Clark’s and Mitchell’s stats from this year.

Kelsey ended the regular season with the most points in the league (1,086).

Meanwhile, Clark had the highest average for total points created prior to the postseason with 41.2 per game.

But for whatever reason, the Fever and their top stars just came up short when it mattered most.
