Footage of a man kicking a rugby ball from a balcony into Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium during the Premier League clash with Liverpool has gone viral. And now the West London club have confirmed the "dangerous" incident has been referred to the police.
Andoni Iraola's side won 2-1 in West London on Saturday after going 1-0 down to a Keane Lewis-Potter header in the 44th minute. Yehor Yarmoliuk's sending off just before halftime changed the game as Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak scored against 10-men in the second half, before another Bees star, Vitaly Janelt, saw red late on and the hosts finished the game with only nine players.
But video footage has since emerged of a man booting a rugby ball from a high balcony overlooking the stadium during the battle with the Merseyside titans, which then lands inside the ground. A second clip shows an individual walking away from the pitch carrying a rugby ball, accompanied by the sarcastic caption: "Wrong sport mate."

Brentford have now confirmed they have referred the matter to the authorities, citing the "dangerous and potentially harmful" nature of the act, reports the Mirror.
A club statement issued on Monday read: "Brentford Football Club is aware of an incident involving an item being kicked from a height towards the field of play during Saturday's match against Liverpool. Such behaviour is dangerous and potentially very harmful.
"The matter has been referred to the police and the club is supporting the relevant authorities in their investigation to help identify those responsible and take appropriate action, which may result in criminal prosecution.
"The matchday safety of fans, staff, players and officials is of utmost importance, and the club will support all efforts to ensure action is taken."
This development comes as Brentford have made a decent start to the campaign, sitting sixth in the Premier League table with two victories, four stalemates and only one defeat from their opening fixtures. Next up for the Bees is a journey to Hull City on Sunday, October 25 at 2pm.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are positioned one spot higher than Keith Andrews' side in fifth, having secured three wins and an equal number of draws from their first seven games of 2026/27, with their only defeat a controversial loss to league leaders Manchester City.
The Reds take on Villarreal on Tuesday, October 20 at 8pm, before welcoming a flying Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday - the Seagulls currently occupying third spot after a cracking start to the new campaign.
Liverpool are also without several crucial players through injury, as Iraola's first-team appears alarmingly depleted in specific positions.
Not only is Hugo Ekitike still ruled out from an Achilles tendon rupture picked up towards the end of last season, but Conor Bradley and Gio Leoni are also still working their way back from respective knee injuries.
