Andoni Iraola has responded after being asked about Gilberto Mora - although the Liverpool head coach is keeping his cards close to his chest.
The Reds have been linked with a transfer for Mexican star Mora, who is being touted for a move to Europe after catching the eye at the World Cup.
At just 18, the Tijuana ace is already reportedly catching the eye of some of the biggest clubs around the world, including Liverpool. The teenager may have also hinted at his plans, having recently given a thumbs up to supporters when asked about a potential move to Merseyside.
The rumors have now made their way to Iraola, with the Reds’ head coach being directly asked about a transfer for Mora after Liverpool’s win over Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Spaniard though refused to give anything away.
“Let’s see, not only because of what he’s doing,” Iraola told TNT Sports Mexico.
“There are times when you ask me about players, but I can’t talk about players who aren’t ours, right? In the end, there’s respect.
“And there has to be respect between clubs and well, if you’ll allow me, I don’t have my opinion, obviously, but I prefer not to comment, not about players who aren’t from Liverpool.”
Mora’s future has become a major talking point, with some of Europe’s top clubs looking as though they could be in a race for his signature.
Recent claims have even go so far as to suggest that Liverpool has prepared a $50 million bid, while Real Madrid is also linked with his services. The speculation has led to the player’s agent Rafaela Pimenta speaking out, although she has refused to be drawn on her client’s future.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
"Please understand that I don't comment on transfer rumors. I won't say anything at all about the transfer of any player. Thank you very much for your understanding,” Pimenta told Record on links with Liverpool.
