LSU men's basketball roster grows as Skyy Clark, Donovan Dent cleared

After an injunction was granted in California for the Glancey vs. NCAA case, LSU men’s basketball has had two more players cleared to compete in the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Former UCLA players Skyy Clark and Donovan Dent will join LSU after they were among a group the athletes granted eligibility by the injunction on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Clark is a 6-foot-3 guard that brings double-digit scoring ability to LSU coach Will Wade's ever-evolving squad this upcoming season. In his college career, he is averaging 10.4 points and close to three rebounds and assists per game while shooting close to 47% from the field.

Clark began his collegiate career at Illinois, where he started in 12 of the 13 games he played in. From there, the Los Angeles native transferred to Louisville for the 2023-24 season before playing the past two seasons at UCLA. He was a go-to starter for the Bruins, averaging 11.5 points and little over two rebounds per game in the 2025-26 season.

Dent had already been competing with LSU this preseason after being granted a temporary restraining order on Aug. 18 in his age-based eligibility lawsuit filed in California. Dent scored 12 points against McNeese on Oct. 8 and followed that with 21 against UCF on Oct. 14.

The former Bruins join forwards Saliou Niang and Brice Dessert as the latest players to be granted eligibility to play for the Tigers.

LSU returns to the court against Florida State at noon CT on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Tallahassee, Florida, for its final exhibition before the regular season starts.
