Draymond Green’s reputation precedes him, and it was on full display Monday night against the Suns. Green was tossed for a double technical after he tackled Khaman Maluach, then got physical with Dillon Brooks after the play — seemingly trying to choke him.

Not sure we can really call this a “choke,” it was more like he grabbed Brooks’ jersey and twisted it around him, but either way, it was completely out of line. This all kicked off because Maluach ran into Draymond, but it wasn’t exactly the hardest hit we’ve ever seen. Definitely didn’t warrant Green channeling his inner linebacker to tackle Maluach on the play.

We’re now on record watch with Draymond when it comes to career ejections. This incident led to number 26 on his career, needing only three more to tie Rasheed Wallace, who had 29 over the course of his career. It took Wallace 16 years to hit that mark, and this is the 15th year of Draymond’s career — so never say never. Maybe that’s the point of all this? Nail a few more ejections and ensure his place in history.

The NBA has not commented on the incident yet, though it’s possible Green will face a suspension.
