Ipswich Town - Cieran Slicker makes Barnsley debut

The 24-year-old had joined the Tykes on a season-long loan deal in July, but suffered an injury in training prior to the season kicking off which has sidelined him since.

Slicker had been edging closer to full fitness and was on the bench for Daniel Stendel's side during their 2-1 home defeat to Cambridge United on Saturday.

And he was handed his debut by the South Yorkshire side as he replaced Rogan Ravenhill in goal at Kenilworth Road, but his loan outfit suffered their three straight defeat in the third tier.

They currently sit 22nd in the table, having gone six games without a win.

The one-cap Scottish international impressed on his first appearance for Barnsley despite the loss, making some key saves and he hopes to kick on during his second loan spell away from Portman Road.

He enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Barnet in League Two last season, keeping 15 clean-sheets in 45 games in all competitions.
