Ifeanyi Ndukwe has been backed to develop into one of the world's finest defenders by his Levante boss, Luis Castro, after a dramatic full debut for the La Liga side.

The Liverpool loanee netted a 100th-minute equalizer for Levante as the team fought back from 2-0 down and a 95th-minute concession against Sevilla to secure a 3-3 draw. The 18-year-old had been culpable for Sevilla's early breakthrough, delivering an underhit backpass to his goalkeeper, Mat Ryan, which allowed Robbie Ure to intercept the ball and round the keeper to score.

However, both Ndukwe and Levante rallied to claim a point in an enthralling encounter that saw three goals and a red card during second-half stoppage time alone. Felix Correia extended Sevilla's advantage shortly after the interval, only for Ivan Romero to reduce the arrears before the hour mark.

Adrian de la Fuente appeared to have secured Levante a point after he leveled in the 92nd minute, but Isaac Romero put Sevilla back in front three minutes later with a spectacular long-range effort.

Yet the striker went from hero to villain moments afterward as he received his marching orders after making a 'silence' gesture toward Levante fans during his goal celebration, collecting a second yellow card in the process.

Levante capitalized on its numerical advantage in the 100th minute when Ndukwe celebrated his maiden La Liga start by netting the equalizer, converting the rebound for his loan side after Odysseas Vlachodimos had made a double-save.

Castro heaped praise upon Ndukwe after the final whistle, commending how the Liverpool loanee refused to let his early mistake affect his performance, before making a bold prediction regarding the Austrian's future prospects.

"First, a player of his age who makes a mistake and continues playing with the personality he showed, keeping the ball, attacking without any fear, it shows you what he can become one day," the Levante manager stated during his post-match press conference.

"He is not the first and... I would like him to be the last, but he is not going to be the last player who will make a mistake that costs you a goal against.

"Some are more visible than others, but he hasn't been the first, nor will he be the last. The goal I think is good for him because mentally it gives him a little more stability.

"But he is not a player who, after the error... a player with a weak mentality doesn't play the game he played, the duels he won, how he defended, how he attacked, how he went forward.

"He is a player who has great potential, I think. If he has a normal development, he can be one of the best in the world in his position."

The Austrian moved to Levante on a temporary basis after being unable to secure a work permit for Liverpool. Nevertheless, he has now accumulated sufficient points to meet the eligibility criteria following his maiden appearance for Levante last month, which instantly pushed him over the required threshold.

In any event, the Merseysiders will have an exemption place at their disposal from February that would permit Ndukwe to feature, while also retaining the option to bring the player back in January from his stint at Levante should circumstances warrant it.
